Finding treasures in the fall

Finding treasures in the fall

Thousands of people packed the streets of Downtown Clinton, TN for the 2017 Clinch River Fall Antiques Festival.  Dozens of vendors offered up deals on vintage furniture, glassware, collectibles, vinyl records and much, much more.  The event began with a special preview party on Friday night where antique stores and other merchants downtown stayed open late.  Thrown into the mix was a Cruze-in of classic cars and plenty of music and food.

Saturday, of course, was the big day as antique hunters descended on Market Street, Main Street and a few other places.  German roasted peanuts, BBQ, apple butter and much more was offered up by the food vendors and several bluegrass and old-time bands entertained the crowds from the stage set up in the Hoskins Flat park.

The fall antiques festival is sponsored by the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce.  If you didn't get your fill of antiques this time around, the festival will return next October.  Of course you can also visit the Clinton antiques stores anytime or visit the Spring Antiques Festival in May, sponsored by the local antiques guild.
